Please note that this program has been cancelled. EBC will notify you if the program will be rescheduled.

This EBC Ocean and Coastal Resources Program will focus on the latest innovative field techniques for collecting data from the coastal zone and turning this data into the information stakeholders need for decision-making.

Attendees will learn about different aspects of data collection including satellite data sources, drones, and measurements systems with instruments deployed in the field such as passive samplers that provide integrative measurement of contaminants in surface and porewater.

Also, new methods for reporting data in real-time from remote measurements sites will be presented including a field-based eDNA sampling and testing tool providing results to confirm the presence/absence of target species and space-based radar satellite monitoring to bring mm accuracy to mapping of coastal structures.

This EBC program will also focus on applications for these data products including determination of contaminant uptake pathways from the water column to organisms, endangered species management, improved design and monitoring for beach and dune nourishment projects, and evaluation of the impact of sea level rise on coastal areas of the US.

General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this meeting (3.5 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.
