Unfortunately this program is being rescheduled.

Don’t be caught off guard by these previously un-regulated contaminants that have historically not been evaluated at former industrial and brownfield sites. Both the U.S. EPA and CT DEEP are currently developing criteria to add these contaminants to their list of regulated compounds. The financial and health effect implications can be significant due to the extremely low groundwater regulatory criteria for these chemicals that had widespread use for many decades. This EBC Connecticut Chapter program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to understand the technical, regulatory, legal and financial implications affecting your property, business and clients. The topics covered will have broad interest to property or business owners, environmental professionals, lawyers and regulators. Experts with direct experience with these contaminants will cover:

  • Nature of These Chemicals and Past Uses – Who’s at Risk
  • Health Effects & Toxicology
  • Groundwater Fate & Transport
  • Regulatory Status
  • Legal Implications
  • Sampling & Analytical Issues
  • Remediation
  • Financial Implications

General Continuing Education Certificates are awarded by the EBC for this program (3.5 training contact hours). Please select this option during registration if you wish to receive a certificate.

Program Chair

  • Carl Stopper, Vice President, TRC
