Tighe & Bond Employee Winner of the Young Professionals Fresh Ideas Contest

Westfield, MA, May 6, 2009 – Tighe & Bond is pleased to announce that Amy Lane, P.E., was the winner of the Young Professionals Fresh Ideas Contest for the best presentation given by a young professional at New England Water Works Association’s 2009 Spring Regional Conference and Exhibition in Worcester, MA. Her presentation, titled “Water System Improvements in the Town of Amherst” discussed the challenges coordinating upgrades to one of the Town’s wells and their surface water treatment plant with the unique seasonal demand patterns of college town. The presentations were evaluated by three judges. As winner of the contest, Amy receives a complimentary registration to the American Water Works Association’s National Conference and Exposition in San Diego , CA and has the opportunity to give a poster presentation on her work in Amherst.

Amy is a registered professional engineer who specializes in drinking water. She has worked on a variety of projects focused on water supply, treatment and distribution for both surface water and groundwater supplies. Her contributions include development of specifications and drawings, data analysis, computer modeling, and funding and permit application preparation. Amy joined Tighe & Bond in 2004 after obtaining her bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson University and her master of science in environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Amy is a member of the NEWWA Groundwater Committee and the Massachusetts Water Works Association Program Committee. She currently resides in Westfield, MA.
