Posted October 24, 2012 by

Northeast Utilities has been recognized as the top utility in the nation for its environmental stewardship in Newsweek’s 4th annual Green Rankings. The survey examines the environmental performance of the 500 largest public companies in the U.S. and the 500 biggest companies in the world, assessing a company’s performance in three areas – environmental footprint, management and disclosure.

NU is being recognized for a host of environmentally-conscious programs including its Sustainable Supply Chain program and the support the company provides to energy efficiency programs for customers and businesses in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. You can learn more about NU’s commitment to its customers and the environment at its
Responsible Energy website, or by viewing NSTAR’s Sustainability Report. More information about Newsweek’s Green Rankings and the rankings of the top 25 utilities in the U.S. are available online.
