Area’s Top Women in Energy and Environment to be Honored April 16th

NEWIEE Honors Leaders in the Field

Boston, MA (February 25, 2015) New England Women In Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) are pleased to announce their Fifth Annual Awards Gala recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of women leaders in the fields of energy and environment on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6-9pm at the Omni Parker House, Boston, Massachusetts.

This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Cheryl Martin, Former Acting Deputy Director Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). She will be joined by presentations from the following four awardees.

NEWIEE Achievement Awards:

  • Sara J. Burns, President and Chief Executive Officer, Central Maine Power (CMP)
  • Heather Hunt, in honor of Allison Smith, Executive Director, New England States Committee on Electricity (NESCOE)
  • Nancy L. Seidman, Assistant Commissioner, Bureau of Air and Waste, MA Department of Environmental Protection

NEWIEE Leadership Award:

  • Judith Nitsch, PE, LEED AP BD+C, Founding Principal and Chairman of the Board, Nitsch Engineering
