BOSTON – January 5, 2015 – Pierce Atwood LLP is pleased to welcome Michelle N. O’Brien to its Environmental, Land Use, and Litigation Practice Groups. Michelle has more than 25 years of experience in environmental law in legislative, regulatory, and litigation settings. She represents clients such as commercial and residential developers, waterfront property owners, wind turbine operators, solid waste facilities, and municipalities.

Before joining Pierce Atwood, Michelle practiced 15 years at the Boston boutique environmental law firm Mackie Shea O’Brien, PC. Michelle earned her J.D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, and graduated magna cum laude from Lesley University.
Pierce Atwood’s growth strategy is defined by its careful and deliberate addition of well-known, well-respected and well-established legal talent in our key areas of expertise who want to be part of our firm’s dedication to client service. Our regional footprint and lean, efficient approach then allow our practitioners, new and old, to provide superior value to firm clients.

Last December we added seven attorneys from the Providence, RI firm Little Bulman Medeiros & Whitney PC, regionalizing our construction and complex litigation practices. Shortly thereafter, we doubled our Boston office space and have since added eight new attorneys in some of our key practice areas: energy, environment, M&A, private equity, venture capital, corporate law, construction, real estate, land use, trademarks and copyrights, and patents. All of these attorneys arrive having had substantial experience at some of the most well-known firms in Boston and beyond.

Our recent growth efforts are consistent with our goal of being the premier regional law firm in New England, while ensuring that services are provided with the quality, teamwork, and professionalism that people expect from a Pierce Atwood attorney. In the past year, we have added 16 attorneys, across two offices and several disciplines, each of whom reflect our high standards and inclusive culture.

Pierce Atwood LLP, a leading New England law firm, has 130 attorneys that serve regional, national and international clients from offices in Portland and Augusta, Maine; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Boston, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; Stockholm, Sweden; and Washington, DC.
