Green Roof Design & Installation Course

Green Roof Design & Installation is a full-day course that provides detailed infomation on green roof benefits and technical standards, as well as design, installation, and maintenance best practice. Trainees of all levels will learn the tools necessary to meet green roof project objectives on schedule, to specification, and within budget. This course presents a great opportunity to connect with other industry professionals, and hear from green roofing experts like guest speaker Mark Winterer, Director of Operations for Recover Green Roofs.

SAME Piscataqua Post – Golf Tournament – July 21

Come spend a summery Friday of golf in the Seacoast area on Friday, 21 July 2017 for the Post’s 24th Annual Education and Mentoring Fund Golf Tournament being held at the Pease Golf Course located in Portsmouth, NH. You will enjoy good company and scenery at this any-skill-level Golf Tournament hosted at the Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. More importantly, you will support the SAME Piscataqua Post’s 24th Annual Education and Mentoring Fundraising program for STEM students and campers.

It will be a standard Scramble format with teams selecting their best ball for each shot. The Shotgun start will begin at 0800 hours; please arrive no later than 0730 hours to register. The tournament will be followed by prizes, raffles, steak tips and seared salmon, and instating the new Piscataqua Post Officers.

Awards this year will include prizes for low gross and skill-shot contests, including closest-to-the-pin and long drives, sponsored by Pease Golf Course, SAME, and our sustaining Post members. Raffle prizes are also being donated by local businesses and Post members. Be sure to bring extra money for raffle tickets and mulligans the day of the event!

Complete the Entry Form with the registration fee to the name and address indicated on the form. Non-golfers are welcome to attend the after-golf events and barbeque for a small fee, including the raffles and induction ceremony for the Post officers and elected Directors. We request that your entry form and fee be received no later than Friday 14 July 2017. We will do our best to accommodate late entries after the that date.

This is the Post’s primary fundraiser event. The funds we raise support scholarships for deserving local engineering college students, SAME summer engineering camps for deserving local middle and high school students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curricula, and for STEM programs, including the UNH Tech Camp for middle school students.

Open Position: Communications & Marketing Coordinator

The Environmental Business Council of New England is searching for an energetic and proactive person to take on the role of Communications & Marketing Coordinator.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of organizations and businesses in the environmental and energy industries.  We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to support the EBC’s Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Board of Directors. In this role the Coordinator will manage EBC’s email communications, social media presence, website, and contact databases. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective and professional communication, and the ability to respond quickly to our members’ needs. Candidates must have office experience – accounting experience a plus. He/she must also be willing to work necessary hours leading up to, during, and immediately following EBC programs and events. This includes early mornings and late evenings. Driver’s license required.

Salary range is $36,000 to $40,000 annually.  Benefits package includes: SIMPLE IRA retirement savings plan with 3% employer match; health insurance (includes coverage for deductible payments); state and federal holidays; vacation – 10 days per year, accrue one day per year employed; leave (illness, bereavement, family / maternity, jury duty); long-term disability; auto mileage reimbursement for business travel if applicable; smart phone voice & data reimbursement (up to $50 per month); ZipCar membership and/or public transportation monthly pass.

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for:

Communications & Marketing

  • Actively manage social media presence including Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Keep the EBC website up-to-date (WordPress)
  • Create marketing emails and manage targeted email campaigns
  • Communicate with EBC members to answer questions
  • Create marketing materials for EBC promotional purposes
  • Respond to email and phone inquiries in a timely manner

Program Support

  • Attend EBC programs independently
  • Prepare all program materials required
  • Manage online registrations
  • At programs, troubleshoot A/V issues and assist with set-up and break-down
  • Follow-up with attendees post-program

Non-profit Administration

  • Maintain EBC’s committee meeting schedule and act as the point of contact for committee leadership
  • Create reports using EBC program and membership data for use by staff and the Board of Directors
  • Maintain accurate records in all EBC databases
  • Willing and able to learn basic accounting
  • Other non-profit management tasks as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office – especially Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Proven experience developing marketing materials
  • Ability to self-direct and manage tasks efficiently
  • Flexible and adaptable personality
  • Personal interest in the environment/sustainability
  • Willingness to contribute to in-office sustainability initiatives
  • HTML proficiency a plus
