Louis Soracco, P.E. Joins Tighe & Bond’s Worcester Office

BRINGING CENTRAL MASS KNOWELDGE TO WATER & WASTEWATER CLIENTS

Westfield, Massachusetts – March 22, 2016 – Tighe & Bond recently hired Project Manager Louis Soracco, P.E. to support the engineering needs of water and wastewater clients throughout the Northeast. He joins the firm’s growing water and wastewater team in Worcester, with the goal of more completely serving that region.

Soracco, who has 14 years of experience serving Central Massachusetts clients, will provide project management, engineering design, and construction observation services. His areas of expertise include water system and treatment facility improvements, stormwater modeling, water main design and distribution systems, pump stations, water storage tanks, and wastewater management. He also provides coordination with equipment suppliers/vendors in the development of specifications for construction, performs construction oversight, and provides planning board reviews. An Ayer resident, he has worked previously with many municipalities throughout the region implementing a variety of town and city projects.

Licensed in Massachusetts, Soracco earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is an active member of the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA), and as co-chair of its filtration committee, he participates in the Annual Water Quality Symposium each May. Last September, NEWWA honored him with its Younger Member of the Year Award for outstanding service to NEWWA.

Soracco is also a member of the New England Water Environment Association.

Wayne Bates, Ph.D, P.E. Joins Tighe & Bond’s Westwood Office

BRINGING EXPERTISE IN EH&S SERVICES TO GREATER BOSTON AREA CLIENTS

Westfield, Massachusetts – March 17, 2016 – Tighe & Bond, a New England leader in civil and environmental engineering and consulting, recently hired Principal Engineer Wayne Bates, Ph.D., P.E. to better serve its clients in the Greater Boston Area. Bates specializes in water and wastewater treatment technologies with a focus on industrial wastewater treatment, process improvement, waste minimization, EH&S compliance, and sustainable manufacturing strategies. He has almost 30 years of engineering and environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consulting experience, and is also a Certified Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV-SP). He holds licenses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Bates is also an adjunct professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and serves on the board of directors for the Center for Business Sustainability at WPI. In addition, he serves on the Town of Ashland’s sustainability and water policy committees, and is a sustainability facilitator for the Associated Industries of Massachusetts. He will work out of Tighe & Bond’s Westwood office.

SAK Environmental Increases Staff

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – SAK Environmental is pleased to announce the addition of staff to assist with the ever increasing workload in the Environmental Consulting business.  We welcome Mr. James Matz, Mrs. Pendra Bell and Mr. Chhavan “Van” Nuon to our environmental family.

James Matz – Sr. Project Manager, Professional Geologist and Licensed Site Inspector
At SAK, James will be working on new business ventures, as well as providing LSP and Senior Project Management support to our new and current clients. Utilizing more than 25 years of site assessment, remediation, permitting and compliance experience, his experience is just what SAK was looking for.

Pendra Bell – Business Manager
Pendra serves as SAK’s Business Manager and assists with project proposals & RFP’s, client coordination, marketing programs, as well as handing outreach events and public relations programs for the company.  Ms. Bell also administers and provides maintenance to the client database, facilitates office management, creates and sends electronic newsletters and notices, as well as accounts payable/receivable.

Chhavan “Van” Nuon – Civil Engineer
Mr. Nuon is a Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer with increasing expertise in construction inspection, environmental monitoring, AutoCAD, emergency response, pollution prevention, scheduling, documentation and client reporting.  He is experienced in working at commercial and industrial properties, and active construction sites.  Mr. Nuon is OSHA HazWoper and Construction Safety trained, respirator Fit Tested and he is also an experienced inspector for MA solid waste compliance programs.
